I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC). I have a wide array of experience in mental health and addictions counseling. I received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Clemson University with a minor in Legal Studies. I obtained a Masters degree from The Citadel in Clinical Counseling. I utilize empirically supported treatment including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Enhancement and Mindfulness Based Therapy.
When working with clients, I focus first on building the therapeutic relationship. Making you feel comfortable, safe, and creating a non-judgmental environment is most important to me. It is only then that we can explore your needs and strengthen your skills. Once you feel comfortable, I can help you develop a deeper self-understanding. I use a down-to-earth approach to therapy and work to find out what is most important to you. Then, we work as a team to develop the skills needed to get you back on the right path.
